TalkThere is published by Theo Martin, a sole trader in France. This page says what the talkthere.com website and the TalkThere iOS app do with your data. The short version: as little as possible, and nothing that is not needed to make the product work.
The iOS app
The iOS app has no account and collects no data. Your saved words and your progress live in a file on your phone. Pronunciations are downloaded from talkthere.com the first time you play them, with no identifier attached: our host sees an IP address and a file name, as for any web page, and nothing else.
In-app purchases go through Apple. We never see your name, your payment method or your Apple ID; the app only reads, on the device, which purchases are active. There is no analytics, no crash reporter, no advertising and no tracking.
The talkthere.com website
If you create an account on the website, we keep:
- your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the identifier Google passes to us;
- your purchases and the date your trial started, to know what is unlocked;
- your preferences and your progress (saved words, mastery level), so you find them again on another device.
This data is hosted on Supabase. Payments on the website are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which receives your email and payment details; we never store a card number. The website uses Vercel Analytics, a cookieless audience measurement with no individual profile.
The website's cookies keep you signed in and remember your reading language. There is no advertising cookie.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or a deletion by writing to theo@talkthere.com. Deleting an account erases the email, the progress and the preferences; the purchase history is kept for as long as accounting law requires. For the iOS app, deleting the app deletes everything it held.
No data is sold or passed to third parties for their own use. If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
